Wig length is always measured in a straight line from root to tip — not following the curl or wave pattern. This means a body wave wig will appear slightly shorter when worn naturally, since the waves reduce the effective hanging length.
For example, a 22-inch body wave wig measured straight will settle around the mid-back rather than falling the full 22 inches due to the wave structure. This is normal and expected — and the reason body wave always looks full and luxurious rather than flat.
Falls at: shoulder / collarbone
Where it falls: Just at or below the shoulder, resting around the collarbone when worn in its natural wave.
Best for: Women who prefer a clean, put-together look without managing extra length. Ideal for professional settings, active lifestyles, and first-time wig wearers who want a manageable introduction to longer hair.

22 inches is our most popular length — it is the AA WIGS signature and suits virtually every height, face shape, and style preference.
An 18 inch body wave wig falls approximately at the shoulder or collarbone when worn naturally. The wave pattern means it sits slightly above the straight measurement.
It requires more care — regular detangling, proper storage on a wig stand, and gentle washing. But many of our customers wear 26-inch wigs daily and find the maintenance straightforward with the right routine.
18 or 20 inches tends to be proportionate for petite women, though many prefer 22 inches for a bold look. There is no wrong answer — choose the length you feel most confident in.
