What You'll Actually Receive

Understanding Your Shipment

Processing, fulfillment, transit, and delivery are different stages — and each one means something specific. This guide explains what happens at each stage between placing your order and receiving your AA WIGS package.

The Four Stages

Your order moves through four distinct stages. Understanding what each one means helps you know what's happening — and what to expect next — at every point in the journey.

📋
Stage 1

Order Processing

This is the time immediately after your order is placed. During processing, your order is confirmed, payment is verified, and the order is passed to the fulfillment team. You will receive an order confirmation email at this stage.

What you can do: Check your confirmation email to verify all order details — item, length, quantity, and shipping address. If anything is incorrect, contact support immediately during this stage, as changes become significantly more difficult once fulfillment begins.

📦
Stage 2

Fulfillment & Pre-Ship Inspection

During fulfillment, the specific unit assigned to your order is retrieved from inventory, passed through the pre-ship inspection process, placed in the satin storage bag, packaged inside the burgundy presentation box, and prepared for the carrier.

This is the stage described in detail in the AA WIGS Quality Standard. Every unit passes inspection criteria before the box is sealed.

What you can do: No action is needed during this stage. Your tracking number will be sent once the package is handed to the carrier.

🚚
Stage 3

Transit

Transit begins when the carrier receives the sealed package and ends when it is delivered to your address. During transit, the package moves through the carrier's network — sorting facilities, regional hubs, local delivery centers.

What is normal during transit: Tracking status may not update for 12–24 hours after the carrier first receives the package. This is common and does not indicate a problem.

Note on wave compression: The wig is held in a fixed position inside the packaging during transit — sometimes for several days. Wave compression on arrival is a normal consequence of this and resolves after the hair is aired or washed. It is not a quality issue.
Stage 4

Delivery

Delivery is marked when the carrier logs the package as delivered to your address. Most carriers provide a delivery photo or confirmation scan.

What to do immediately: Before opening, photograph the outer shipping box. Then follow the First Ten Minutes inspection guide before cutting lace, washing, or making any permanent change to the wig.

Reading Your Tracking

Carrier tracking statuses are not always self-explanatory. Here is what the most common statuses mean:

StatusWhat it means
Label CreatedThe shipping label has been printed. The package has not yet been handed to the carrier.
In TransitThe carrier has the package and it is moving through the network.
Out for DeliveryThe package is on the local delivery vehicle and will arrive today.
DeliveredThe carrier has logged delivery. Check your delivery location — front door, mailbox, building reception, or neighbor if left there.
Exception / DelayThe carrier has flagged an issue — weather, address, or facility delay. Usually resolves within 1–2 business days without action required.

If Timelines Change

Delays can occur at any stage. Here is how to assess the situation before contacting support:

The AA WIGS Concierge is available at the contact page with your order number. Including your order number in the first message significantly speeds up the response.
